The mission of JATI (Jakarta Art Teachers & I) is to make a collective organisation of art teachers, gallery owners and other supportive parties in order to make a positive difference in the development, promotion and encouragement of the Visual Arts in Jakarta. The members of JATI aim to do this through workshops, fieldtrips and professionally organised exhibitions of students and teachers' work in all forms of education and art-making throughout the city.

JATI's inaugural student art exhibition ran at Duta Fine Arts from November 9th – 23rd 2006. JATI's second exhibition was at the El Canna Gallery November 6th – 24th 2008, the third exhibition was again at the El Canna Gallery November 5th – 11th 2009 as well as the fourth annual exhibit which was November 4th-11th 2010. Last March JATI completed its fourth annual workshop at British International School. JATI is planning another student exhibition for November 2011.
